Jolimont Accoyo Miquel does not stand at public stud and these females have been mated to a variety of Kurrawa males, some that don't stand at public stud including Surilana Quechuam Joe ET who's sire is Surilana Icalon and Kurrawa Snapshot who was awarded Supreme Suri at Melbourne Royal 2008. Kurrawa Alpacas success at Royal Melbourne 2008.

Kurrawa Alpacas were looking forward to Royal Melbourne as Natasha judged the AAA Nationals and we were unable to show. We had great success at Royal Melbourne and we were awarded the Supreme Champion Suri with Kurrawa Snapshot and Champion Suri Fleece with Kurrawa Javana ET. The whole kurrawa team did extremly well. Bendigo Sheep and Wool Show 2008

Bendigo Sheep and Wool Show was again very successful for Kurrawa. The Jolimont Accoyo Miquel weanlings are proving their quality in the show ring. Kurrawa Airs N Graces ET and Kurrawa Serial Thriller ET were both awarded broad ribbons. Airs N Graces Junior Champion Female and Serial Thriller ET Reserve Junior Champion Male suri. Again we had Kurrawa Snapshot and Kurrawa Archer ET competing against each other in the Intermediate Male suri section with Kurrawa Snapshot being awarded Intermediate Champion and Archer was the Reserve Champion. Kurrawa Shavari ET again proved how consistent he is by taking out the Adult Male Champion. Kurrawa Snapshot was then awarded the Supreme Champion Suri in very strong competition. Kurrawa Akira won the progeny group and Kurrawa Jewel's fleece was Champion Suri fleece.

 

Ballarat Sheep and Wool Show

Kurrawa braved the cold and made the trip to Ballarat Sheep and Wool Show. Kurrawa Airs N Graces ET and Kurrawa Serial Thriller ET took out the Female and Male Junior Suri Section. Kurrawa Archer ET was awarded the Intermediate Male Suri and Kurrawa Shavari ET was awarded Champion Adult Male Suri and then went on to become Supreme Champion. After a lot of interest in Suris Kurrawa has decided to sell Kurrawa Archer ET.
Kurrawa Akira took out the sires progeny once again.

Australian Alpaca Association National Show 2008

Kurrawa Alpacas one of the most successful Suri Studs in Australia will not be exhibiting at the National Show as Natasha has the honour of judging it with Jenny Jackson. If you wish to view the Kurrawa show team or any other suri you are most welcome to inspect them at Melbourne Royal or make an appointment with us and view them before or after the Nationals.

 

Jolimont Accoyo Miquel Offspring

The first offspring from Kurrawa's Jolimont Accoyo Miquel have competed successfully at the Western Region Alpaca Fest.
Kurrawa Serial Thriller ET was awarded Champion Junior Suri Male and Kurrawa Airs N Graces ET was awarded Junior Champion Suri Female.

 

Western Region Alpaca Fest 2008

Kurrawa Alpacas Exhibited a small show team of Suris this year. We showed for the first time two offspring of our male Jolimont Accoyo Miquel. Kurrawa Airs N Graces ET was awarded Junior Champion Suri Female and Kurrawa Serial Thriller ET was awarded Junior Champion Suri Male. Kurrawa Archer ET has jumped up from the Junior class to the Intermediate Male class. He was awarded Reserve Champion Suri Male behind our other exhibit Kurrawa Snapshot who went on to be awarded Supreme Champion Suri. Kurrawa Shavari ET was once again successful taking out Champion Adult Suri Male.

 

International Fleece Competition 2008

This was run by the AAA in conjuction with the world conference. After the AAA National Show and sale when our suris had finished showing we had Eddie our shearer, shear the show team. We started skirting the fleeces and decided to enter all four as they were all good examples of the suri breed. The results in the White Suri Fleece 18 - 30mths were Kurrawa Just Cruising ET 1st & Champion, Best White then Supreme Suri Fleece. Kurrawa Just A Rumour ET sold at the AAA National Show and Sale 2007 2nd & Reserve Champion. Surilana Quechaun Joe ET which we own 3rd. Kurrawa Javana ET 4th and Kurrawa Jewel ET 5th. Just goes to show that the judges liked the Kurrawa style of fleece. Australia also won the international Challenge for Suri Fleeces & Huacaya Fleeces.

 

Sydney Royal Easter Show 2008

Our first trip to Sydney for the Royal Easter Show was most successful. It was a long trip for our five suris in the van. We had a couple of days to fill in before our big day so we made the most of it having a look around and catching up with alpaca friends. The day of judging arrived and all five suris ended up with a broad ribbon. Kurrawa Archer ET a young male we have high hopes for as a future stud male was sashed Junior Champion Suri. Then came the intermediate boys, Kurrawa Shavari and Kurrawa Snapshot. The winner and Champion was Shavari followed close behind for Reserve Champion was Snapshot. One of our favourite girls Kurrawa Jianna ET was awarded Reserve Champion Adult Suri Female. Then came the class I love to see in the ring, the boys that are our future stud sires. The winner of that class and then went on to become Champion Adult Male was Kurrawa Just In Time ET. The Supreme line up was a very strong line up with the eventual winner being Kurrawa Just In Time. The Judge Jill MacLoed from Canada is a very experienced judge and has judged all over the world. In her comments she said Just In Time had set a new standard by which she would be judging all other Suris. He represented the ideal for the breed both in conformation and breed type, he is an elite type. It was the best quality Supreme line up she had ever seen. She felt that right now suris in Australia sets the standard.
